South Asia Bound: The Cost of National Identity is a 2025 documentary by Zac Colah that explores the creation of national identities in South Asia following independence and Partition.

Through original interviews with prominent intellectuals including Salima Hashmi and Taimur Rahman, the documentary dispels nationalist histories of a singular identity in India and Pakistan.

In doing so, it connects the struggles of religious and ethnic minorities across the subcontinent while arguing that true independence for South Asia can only be achieved when pan-subcontinental economic and political bridges are built.

The documentary premiered in December 2025 at the Cambridge Public Library at an event hosted in collaboration with Southasia Peace Action Network.
