Zac Colah

Hi there,

My name is Zac Colah. I am an independent journalist, documentary filmmaker, and student of history.

I hope to live in a world in which truth prevails. But truth cannot be reduced to a collection of facts, for facts themselves can never be entirely free from interpretation and manipulation.

The deeper challenge, therefore, is not merely to establish what is factually true, but to scrutinize the narratives through which facts acquire meaning—that is, the overarching stories we tell ourselves about our social constructs and our capacity for change.

To date, I have premised my work on this understanding. During my time at university, I produced South Asia Bound, a documentary about the consequences of unitary and exclusionary nationalism in Southasia.

My latest project, Citizens Opinion News, is an attempt to reflect the absurdity of late-stage capitalism in America.
